Moon River Combined Arrangement Guitar Measures 3 & 4

This lesson will teach you how to play measures 3 & 4 of the Solo Guitar version of Moon River. To listen to the Solo Guitar Tab for the whole song, go to the GUITAR Tab video. An essential part of any performance of a tune is that the melodic line should be heard clearly above the accompanying notes. Go to the MELODY Measures 3 & 4 page to revise the melody for these measures. If you want to impress, let that melody fly! Go to the CHORDS Measures 3 & 4 page to revise the chords for these measures.

**NOTE**  the full video for this Moon River Combined Arrangement is only available in Fingerpicking’s  “BEYOND TABS” guitar course. CLICK HERE to join

Video Script:

in this guitar solo, the original melody note at the

4th fret, 1st string

is supported by the

4th string open, a D, the root of the accompanying chord

followed by the

3rd finger, on the 3rd string, 4th fret

and then the original melody

The Moon River Guitar Tabs on the bottom of the video screen will help you find where to place your left hand fingers

for the rhythm of this measure

count 1 an, 2 an, 3 an

in the second of these measures, the original melody note, the first string open

is supported by the

5th string open, an A, and the root of the supporting chord

followed by two notes together, the

1st finger, on the 3rd string, 1st fret

and the 3rd finger, on the 2nd string, 2nd fret

to complete the measure in this acoustic guitar solo, the final note, a melody note, is played with the

1st finger, on the 3rd string, 2nd fret

This arrangement could as easily sit with the title of  “Jazz Guitar Arrangement” or “Classical Guitar Lesson” and be interesting to players from both genres.
