for the first melody note, in the first of these two bars, play the

1st string open

followed by the

2nd finger, on the 1st string, 2nd fret

and then the

3rd finger, on the 1st string, 3rd fret

these 4 notes are then promptly followed by 4 others, the

2nd string open

2nd finger, on the 2nd string, 2nd fret

4th finger, on the 2nd string, 4th fret

1st string open

for the rhythm of this measure

count 1 an, 2 an, 2 an a, 4 an

for the first note in the second of these two measures place the

2nd finger, on the 1st string, 2nd fret

followed by the

1st string open

and then the

3rd finger, on the 1st string, 3rd fret

and the

2nd finger, on the 1st string, 2nd fret

for the final guitar note, play the

1st string open

for the rhythm of the notes in the second of these two measures

count 1 an, 2 an, 3, 4 an
The arrangement of the melody and the manner in which the melody is played in this lesson could easily sit with the title “Jazz Guitar lesson” or “Classical Guitar lesson” and should be interesting to players from both genres.
