This lesson will teach you how to play measures 25 & 26 of the Combined Arrangement Guitar version of Cry me a River. To listen to the Guitar Tab for the whole song go to the COMBINED ARRANGEMENT GUITAR TAB video. An essential part of any performance of an arrangement of a tune is that the melodic line should be heard clearly above the accompanying notes. Go to the MELODY Measures 25 & 26 page to revise the melody for these measures. If you want to impress, let that melody fly! Go to the CHORDS Measures 25 & 26 page to revise the chords for these measures.

Video Script:

In this combined arrangement for solo guitar, the first note in these two measures is played by the

4th finger, on the 1st string, 7th fret

then, bar the

4th string to the 1st string with the 1st finger, on the 5th fret

then play the

4th string at the 5th fret, with the right hand thumb

followed by two notes played at the same time

“i” plays the 3rd string

“m” plays the 2nd string

together sounding

then, with the right hand, as in the melody version of the tune

“a” plays the 1st string

“m” plays the 2nd string

“i” plays the 3rd string

for the rhythm of this measure count

count 1 an, 2, 3 an, 4 an

The Guitar Tabs on the bottom of the video screen will help you find where to place your left hand fingers

to complete the measure in this acoustic guitar solo

play the 2nd string open

followed by the

3rd finger, on the 4th string, 7th fret

for the rhythm of both measures together

count 1 an, 2, 3 an, 4 an, 1 an, 2, 3, 4

This arrangement could as easily sit with the title of ” Jazz guitar arrangement” or “classical guitar arrangement” and be interesting to players from both genres.
