Hello, my name is Alan Geddes and I’d like to tell you about my “Beyond Tabs” guitar workshops. These workshops are designed for players of all abilities. Whether you’re a beginner or already a player, these workshops are about helping you to build a solid musical foundation from which you can grow and develop as a guitarist.
In my workshops I use a carefully designed mix of song lessons, ear training and musical theory that I’ve developed in over 30 years as a teacher, player and composer.
In the workshops:
- I’ve detailed song lessons on classic songs that will teach you to play melodies, teach you to play chords and teach you to play chords and melodies together!
- there’s lessons on guitar technique
- there are step by step lessons designed at building your understanding of music
- if you ever wondered how some guitarists just seem to be able to pick up a guitar and play or improvise then that could be you. Your ears should control your instrument and this theme runs through all of the workshops.
These workshops are great fun, and a wonderful aspect of the workshops is that you get to play as part of a group. We all learn together and we all learn from each other.
Where are the workshops held ?
The workshops are held in Berkley 2 Studios in Glasgow. These studios have been played host to such names as Loyd Cole, Van Morrison and Martin Taylor so we’re in good company!!
What happens after I’ve completed the first 10 week module ?
