Arranged in the key of D, this chord arrangement of Don’t Get Around Much Anymore should be played with a swing feel. If you’re not familiar with how to play fingerstyle guitar with a swing feel, this is a technique of playing that I cover in the modular guitar course. The chord movement in the first bar of the tune is particularly recognisable. When playing this movement you really ought be thinking of the Duke Ellington version in the recommended listening for maximimum big band swing effect!

Bars 3 & 4 are also worth mentioning. Often in the arrangements of this song the players will embellish the B7 with more chord movement. Again embellishing chords and substituting chords is something we cover in the modular Guitar Lesson Course
