Moon River Guitar Melody Measures 13 & 14

This lesson will teach you how to play the melody in measures 13 & 14 of Moon River. To listen to the Melody Tab for the whole song go to the MELODY TAB video. for the first of the guitar notes in the first of these two measures place

1st finger, on the 3rd string, 2nd fret

followed by the

2nd finger, on the 2nd string, 2nd fret

and then the

1st string open

for the rhythm of the melody in this measure

count 1, 2, 3

for the first melody note in the second of the two measures, place the

4th finger, on the 1st string, 5th fret

followed by

the 3rd finger, on the 1st string, 4th fret

and finally

the 1st finger, on the 1st string, 2nd fret

for the rhythm of the melody in this measure

count 1 an, 2, 3 an

The arrangement of the melody and the manner in which the melody is played in this lesson could easily sit with the title “Jazz Guitar lesson” or “Classical Guitar lesson” and should be interesting to players from both genres.
