Moon River Combined Arrangement Guitar Measures 15 & 16

This lesson will teach you how to play measures 15 & 16 of the combined arrangement solo guitar version of Moon River. To listen to the Guitar Tab for the whole song, go to the GUITAR Tab video. An essential part of any performance of a tune is that the melodic line should be heard clearly above the accompanying notes. Go to the MELODY Measures 15 & 16 page to revise the melody for these measures. If you want to impress, let that melody fly! Video Script:

in this combined arrangement for the guitar solo for measures 15 & 16, in measure 15, place your

4th finger, on the 1st string, 4th fret

followed by the

1st finger, on the 4th string, 2nd fret

and then the 2nd finger, on the 1st string, 2nd fret

and finally

the 1st string open

The Guitar Tabs on the bottom of the video screen will help you find where to place your left hand fingers

for the rhythm of the melody in this measure, count

1 an, 2, 3 an

for the first melody note in the second of these two measures, place your

3rd finger, on the 1st string, 2nd fret

followed by the

1st finger, on the 5th string, 2nd fret

and then the

2nd finger, on the 3rd string, 2nd fret

and the

3rd finger, on the 2nd string, 2nd fret

to complete the measure in this acoustic guitar solo, place your

1st finger, on the 3rd string, 1st fret

for the rhythm of the melody in this measure

count 1 an, 2 an, 3

This arrangement could as easily sit with the title of  “Jazz Guitar Arrangement” or “Classical Guitar Lesson” and be interesting to players from both genres.
